School's out for summer

Kids have day camp this week and next. The morning prep is insanity. Rainboots, extra clothes, bathing suit, towel, bug spray, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, snacks, lunch, yada yada yada, times 3.

I'm way sick right now with a sore throat that's so inflamed it's engaging my gag reflex. Suh-weet huh? Too many long weekend festivities. I had 5 or 6 friends over yesterday and our twelve combined offspring did me in. Mayhaps it was the mojitos the previous night but I prefer to blame the children.

Being the errant mom I am, I neglected to coat my kids with their eighth application of sunscreen so they were looking a little red this morning. They were the only kids at camp with long-sleeve shirts in the 30 degree weather. Their skinny little red legs betrayed me. They are almost albino so it's grueling to keep them protected.

I'm going on a mini blogging break for a few days. I am just that much of a wimp that I need to indulge this sore throat and ear-poppingness and take it easy.

Oh, and here in Canada, we celebrate our country's birthday by forcing children to go to heritage homesteads to re-enact life as a pilgrim child and make Blair Witch-like dolls out of corn husks. All of this is of course to be used as ammo later when my kids are sick of hearing about how lucky they are and how they could be living in a refugee tent blah, blah, blah. This is when I can whip out how easy their life is compared to being a PIONEER child.

Peace out my friends.

Oh, please get better soon. And make your bloggy break as SHORT as humanly possible.
You will be missed for the time you do not attend - you do realize that, right?

My kiddos are so white too, but the youngest refuses to wear a hat so I have to sunscreen his hair.

Get better soon~

GET WELL SOON! I hate being sick - and sore throats are the worst!

I also have an albino munchkin.... if you even look at her sideways, she burns. In the summer she's not allowed to wear a bathing suit - she has to wear a rashguard and shorts...

Don't worry I hear sunscreen is toxic and causes cancer anyway.

You have 3 kids - more boys or girls?

12 children running around.. I'd go nuts within half an hour.

Get better so you can enjoy the nice weather!!
