Have yourself a merry little

How much I get into the Christmas spirit has become somewhat weather dependant the past few years. I grew up in Northern Ontario where the ground is white from October to May. Every Christmas was a white Christmas. It's been snowing here for the past month and the ground is white. Today it is well above zero and raining. The snowmen are melting. Daisy asked "it's going to be snowing tomorrow when we open our gifts right?" Oh how we subscribe to the snowy Christmases we see on tv. We all need to be in a shaky snow globe. There are a few little odd pressies left to wrap. Showers to be taken, pretty clothes to be slipped into. We will emerge fresh and sparkly in a few hours. Laden down with bags of gifts to be carted to the in-laws where we will indulge in our traditional Christmas Eve feast. Chinese food. Yup, my straight up from Germany in-laws always have Chinese food on this particular eve. I for one am thankful for it because it means two turkey dinners instead of three. Don't misunderstand, turkey & trimmings are the shiznazz but two s'enough. Tomorrow we will load down our truck with more gifts and our over-night bags & head to Toronto to spend it with my wacky family. There will be many drinks consumed. They're Irish you see.

I had a fruitful season in Outreach. Many parents knocked on my door. The community was especially generous this year and I was able to be generous in return. It broke my heart, and then warmed my heart, it really did. Many blessings.

I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Festivus.

Peace out.
