They took all the trees and put them in a tree museum

Went to see Wall-E today. And, well...meh. Didn't love it. I know, I know, I am obviously devoid of a human heart.

I did find it adorable whenever he or his robot girlfriend said his name. It will oft be repeated by me in the days to come, both aloud and in my head.

I liked the first half hour when he was immersed in his trinkets (Zippo lighters, a Rubik's Cube, videotapes, bubble wrap). Did all his treasures have to be from 1985 though? All the Gen-Xers accompanying their kids need to feel included too i guess. The 80's is apparently the decade that will never ever end. If it did, what music would we all listen to? Geesh.

Frankly, the human blobs disturbed me. And the ending? Cha...right!

It had an important message though which was in summary: Don't be a fat consumer and buy unnecessary shit that will kill the world and make sure to never stop walking or your bones and muscles will atrophy.

I am a super sour grinch today though. Could be because I smoked at the cottage and am now going through evil withdrawal yet again. I am sweetness and light. I am sweetness and light.

I am so sorry you gave in to your need to smoke. It is so hard to start all over again. I know. I did it so many time. But it will happen. You can and will stop, completely.

Lovely pictures. by the way. Poignant.

I would always go back to smoking until my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer a few years ago...he's still hanging in there and neither of us have smoked a puff since then.

I have to say, I do find it rather disturbing that you didn't love Wall-e. I thought it was the greatest animated movie I have ever seen.

But oh well...

You heartless winch. (I'm so joking, I have yet to see Wall-e.) I think it would freak my 4 year old out a bit.

Sorry about the smoking withdrawl, it's got to be really hard especially being summer and being on a little vacation~

The photo of the windmill and the shed is my favorite.

TF, congratulations on the not smoking, that is awesome. It is even more great you quit with your dad. Do you still miss it? Did you get depressed at first? It's sooo hard.

Ack, sorry Morton! I just really expected a lot, I thought I'd love it and I didn't LOVE it. Honestly, a lot of it may have had to do with the fact that we were stuck in the very front row, and expectation, and mood. I'll see it again someday I'm sure.

Didn't like the movie either. Neither did my kids. Bummer.

I have a ridiculously addictive personality-I quit smoking about twenty years ago, but I still know that if I had ONE puff I'd be goners.

That last photo with the tree- seriously, AMAZING. Would you entertain the idea of sending me a hi-res? because I would blow that shit up on a Costco Online Photo Canvas (you guys don't have Canadian Costcos, right?) and hang it in my house. it's WAY cool.
