No I will never ever lose affection, for people and things that went before

One of our best friends was in a car accident a few days ago. Oncoming car swerved into his lane on a highway & smashed into his vehicle head-on. He has a head injury, facial lacerations, is on a respirator, and both legs are crushed. Thankfully though, the head injury doesn't appear severe and he is coherent and responsive.
We've been friends since high school. He was the best man at our wedding and my husband was the best man at his. Our little girl was their flower girl. They have three small children and own a restaurant where he works 60 hour weeks. This is a brutal hardship for them.
Our friends are amazing and six of us travelled up to see him this morning. He smiled and talked a bit. I really, really love my friends. Life is made so much more joyful, (or some days bearable) because of them. I must make time to say yes more often. Life is fleeting.

Happy to hear given the injuries your friend didn't sustain any irreversible head damage.. or anything like that.

I am so sorry to learn of the accident your friend was involved in. And the resulting injuries. It just doesn't seem fair, sometimes, that someone as devoted to his family and his business as he obviously is has to take such a blow. I wish him well, and I hope he has a speedy and full recovery. He's lucky to have a friend such as you.
